Priyanka Setia impresses us as the public prosecutor prosecuting Haseena, but, these performances, however exemplary, couldn’t salvage the movie it’s a sinking ship without lifeboats or even a seasoned captain. But, there is no real insight to Haseena’s life, her convictions or her drive which the audience could relate to.Īnkur Bhatia plays Haseena’s husband, who runs a small restaurant in the neighbourhood and moonlights as a junior artiste in Hindi films, does justice to his role but Siddhanth Kapoor seemed lacklustre as the dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim. While Shraddha Kapoor delivers a good performance as Haseena, the overall quality of the movie is too pitiable to be saved by her acting prowess alone. The final result was apathetic, to say the least. The director fails to capture the characters’ moral compass and the story does nothing to right that wrong. Oh! And watch out for a scene lifted directly from Godfather II, you can’t miss it! The Movie Has Nothing New To Offer The story was uninspired, and the shootouts seemed staged. Even after sitting through two hours of the movie, you are left wondering who Haseena actually was. It was more a courtroom drama than a mafia flick, and uninspired at that.

The story was shallow and lazy, with no real theme and full of clichés. The second half was downright tedious and mind-numbingly monotonous.
But, the portrayal of her character was dramatized a bit too much, as with all Bollywood masala flicks, and thus became overly-dramatic and, honestly, boring. In addition, she stuffed her cheeks like Marlon Brando did in the Godfather to stay as true to her character as she could. Her transformation from the submissive, illiterate daughter of a police constable to a dreaded authority figure who has no qualms about killing people is commendable Shraddha Kapoor pulled all the stops to bring sincerity to her character, though at times you could see her lack of conviction. The first half is mildly entertaining as we accompany Haseena in her road to success as she faces challenging situations and tries to overcome them.
